Frequently Asked
Questions

Prints

What is a limited edition print?

+

Each print is produced in a numbered edition of 20 — meaning only 20 copies of that image will ever be made, worldwide. Each is signed and numbered by Marta (e.g. 7/20) and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Once the edition sells out, that print is retired permanently.

What is giclée printing?

+

Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a fine art printing method using archival-grade inks and high-resolution files. The result is a print with exceptional colour accuracy, tonal range, and longevity — museum-quality reproductions that won't fade for decades under normal conditions.

What is the print produced on?

+

All prints are produced on 365 g/m² canvas using archival pigment inks. The canvas is heavyweight and has a slight texture that gives the print a painted feel. Prints are shipped unframed, rolled in a protective tube.

What size are the prints?

+

All prints are 120×120cm (standard format). This size was chosen because it represents the optimal balance between visual impact and print quality at this resolution — the colours are vivid and the detail is crisp.

Are the prints signed?

+

Yes. Every print is signed and numbered by Marta Ellie and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity confirming the edition number and the artist's details.

What is the difference between a print and an original?

+

An original is a unique, hand-painted canvas — one of a kind, painted by Marta with physical paint and brush. A print is a museum-quality photographic reproduction of an original painting, produced in a limited edition. Both come signed with a certificate.

Originals & Commissions

How do commissions work?

+

You fill the enquiry form describing what you're looking for — the colours that feel right, the size of your wall, any themes or references. Marta replies personally within 48 hours with a proposal. Once you're happy with the direction, she paints it. The process typically takes 6–12 weeks depending on scale.

Can I choose the colours and size?

+

Yes — that's the point. You tell Marta what you love (share a photo of your room, reference one of her existing works, describe a mood). She works with your direction. Sizes range from 60×60cm to 200×200cm.

What does a commissioned painting cost?

+

Commissions start at €3,000 for smaller works and range up to €9,000+ for large-format canvases. The price depends on size and complexity. Shipping is quoted separately. There is no obligation to commit when you enquire.

Can I see progress during the painting?

+

Yes. Marta sends photos at key stages — you can see the work developing and give feedback before it's complete.

Shipping

Where do prints ship from?

+

Prints are produced by our specialist printing partner in Poland and ship directly from there. Production takes 3–5 working days, then shipping.

How long does shipping take?

+

Within Europe: typically 5–10 working days after production. Outside Europe: 10–20 working days depending on destination. You receive a tracking number when your order ships.

How much does shipping cost?

+

Shipping is included in the print price for all European destinations (EU member states, Switzerland, Norway, UK, and surrounding countries). For orders outside Europe, a flat international shipping rate of €100 is added at checkout — simply select "International — Outside Europe" as your shipping option.

Do you ship worldwide?

+

Yes. We ship to most countries worldwide. European orders have shipping included. For international destinations (Americas, Asia, Australia, etc.) a flat €100 shipping fee applies, added at checkout.

Do original commissions ship differently?

+

Yes. Original paintings ship insured from Málaga, Spain. They are carefully crated for safe international delivery. Shipping cost is quoted as part of the commission agreement.

Returns & Care

Can I return a print?

+

Prints are made to order, so we don't accept returns unless the item arrives damaged. If your print arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photographs and we'll arrange a replacement.

How do I care for my canvas print?

+

Keep the print away from direct sunlight and humidity. To clean, use a soft dry cloth — never wet clean a canvas print. We recommend framing with UV-protective glass if hanging in a bright room.

Do I need to frame the print?

+

It's personal preference. Many buyers frame them — a simple float frame or a floating canvas mount looks excellent. Others hang the rolled canvas on wooden stretcher bars. We're happy to advise.

Payments

How do I pay for a print?

+

Prints are purchased via Stripe — a secure, industry-standard payment processor. You can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or via Apple Pay / Google Pay. You're taken to a Stripe-hosted checkout page.

Is my payment secure?

+

Yes. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and used by millions of businesses worldwide.
